Pulse Health is a telemedicine startup on a mission to connect patients across Africa with specialist doctors through an intuitive mobile and web platform. They needed end-to-end product design that prioritized trust, accessibility, and ease of use for a diverse user base.
The Challenge
Healthcare apps in the African market often feel clinical, confusing, or untrustworthy. Pulse needed to design an experience that would make first-time telehealth users feel comfortable sharing sensitive health information while ensuring doctors had efficient workflows for managing consultations.
Our Solution
We conducted extensive user research across 3 countries, then designed a warm, approachable interface with progressive onboarding, smart symptom assessment, and real-time video consultation features. The design system prioritized accessibility with large touch targets, clear typography, and offline-first patterns for areas with poor connectivity.
